What we've been up to!
The girls seem to be doing well on the breathing treatments, and usually remind ME that they haven't been done. They're also sounding better. They were never tested for Whooping Cough, but both girls were treated for it since they had been exposed. It got quite scary at times because neither one of them could catch their breath after a coughing episode.
We then were busy getting ready for the biggest Fundraiser for Dahrran's Elementary school. I'm on the group that helps out will all fundraising for Elementary, and so busy was I. We have a school carnival that is called "Fun Night" and it was so much "fun work" to get done! After a lot of running around, preparing and just plain having a good time, Fun Night(last Friday) was over! The kids had so much fun, and that's all that matters. I'm not sure how much money we raised.
On Saturday another adventure was going to start bright and early. I set my alarm, got dressed, and then packed the kids up in their pj's to head to Lincoln. We were out the door by 6:00am, and needless to say the kids did a good job. We were headed to Aunt Bridget's house, and so that was enough excitement to ward off the tears that come with getting up early.
If you read Jenny's blog or Kindra's blog, you already know what I was up to. Kindra emailed me a few weeks ago, and asked if I wanted to meet up for the Mother of All Garage Sales, a HUGE base of garage sales indoors. I figured heck why not, I LOVE me a good deal and why not start off the season with a TON of garage sales to go to. It was a morning that started off waiting in the cold for a while but well worth it. I got to know Jenny and Kindra a little bit better, and it was nice to have other mom's to talk with!
I found a few good deals but nothing that blew me out of the water. Kaitlynn got a new little shirt, and a 5 pack of bloomers to cover her diapers. Dahrran and MacKenzie got some new Moon Shoes to share, and at a DOLLAR I couldn't pass them up. I just wish I'd found two pairs of them! I also got a cute little 1/2 ladder that I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with yet.
After garage sailing we went out for a bite to eat, and got the waitress to take a picture of us. But you'll have to go check out Kindra's post on the meet up, I haven't gotten to email her yet! :( Lunch was over, and it was time for me to get back to motherhood. Remember my kiddos were at Aunt Bridget's house. . . .
. . . we headed out to the Lincoln Children's Museum for a fun afternoon of playing. Although I'm having problems with my Flickr account so I'm going to have to blog those pictures later! Have a great day!

The 5 second shower
The girls have gotten worse, and so for the 3rd time this week I'm taking Kaitlynn to the doctor. And well MacKenzie is going as well...she's coughing so hard she has to catch her breath with big gasps of air.
A 5 second shower and off to the doctor we go...

Sick Baby
Kaitlynn spiked a fever of 104 last night, that I couldn't get to come down for the life of me. I ended up taking her in to the ER because she's had this nasty cold/cough for a couple weeks now that I was TRYING to let run it's course. My kiddos don't usually run fevers, UNLESS they're sick. My first thought was ear infection or sinus infection.
We get there and there are three people in the waiting room...UGH! We live in a small enough town that usually in the ER you are in and out. I wish we had and after hour pedi's clinic but we don't! We waited in the waiting room, not even checked in, for 1 1/2 hours. FINALLY get in a room, and I find out it is a doc on call that I can't stand. It's like he doesn't take anything for serious. We've had run-ins before, and I pretty much made up my mind we wouldn't use him even if he was the only doc on call at the clinic...except we weren't at the clinic.
I about had Kaitlynn asleep, and the nurse comes in turns on the light and checks her over. I asked her to turn the light back off and she replied "Well if they're going to poke and prod her you need to keep her awake." SERIOUSLY!?!?!? By this time it was midnight...ugh. Of course she doesn't feel good, is exhausted and can't rest because the light is on.
Doc comes in, looks her over and then proceeds to make me feel like I am wasting his time. Ears look good, nose good, tonsils a little red but nothing too bad. Wants to check for strep, and influenza. When I mention that we've been exposed to RSV and she's had a cough for two weeks, he says "If she had RSV she'd be wheezing, and there isn't anything we can do for it anyways." May I add that when MacKenzie had RSV, she had no wheezing in fact I thought she had an ear infection, because it was an ER visit with similar reasons as Kaitlynn's. DO we test for RSV? NOPE!
We end up walking out at 1:30 in the morning, knowing what Kaitlynn does not have....Influenza or Strep. And no idea what is wrong. SERIOUSLY! I have half a notion to make her an appointment with our regular doc today, but am too exhausted to think about it. So we will lay around and do nothing all day long!

Ugh
Top reasons why I love my laptop:
1. I'm sitting on the couch as I type this now, while my kiddos are watching cartoons and playing around me. Which means I'm not in the basement in the cold!
2. We can take it whenever we go on trips, and I can work on what ever I was working on before.
3. Wireless Internet...need I say more. OH and now since we have a wireless printer...no more typing is required.
Reason why I'm upset with it, and hate it!
1. Plug it in....battery usually dead when I need it....OH yeah, and did I tell you the cord somehow looks like it's been chewed on. SO you have to have it a certian way or else it won't charge...and now it's sparking? Which means it's not safe to be using at this point. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that a new cord cost $80 bucks for a CHEAP one!!
Thank goodness for Ebay. I bought a cord for $8.00, but it won't be here until at least Monday...and our computer has pretty much been on a dying streak since Thursday!
No more from me until our cord comes in!

Buttery Birthday
The Birthday Boy
You see the awesome Nancy standing there in the background? Well her and another kiddo's mom stayed, helped out and chatted!
Then there was cake! Our lovely neighbor Amy made Dahrran's birthday cake. I asked her to just leave it blank and I would put some tractors on it. Because after all that's what Dahrran wanted!
Happy Birthday baby boy!

Cleaning Poem
My mom sent me this today, and it's so how I feel lately! So when I take pictures and you focus on the background instead of my children, I promise I will forgive you! It's not your fault my house is such a mess, but I can blame your writing! I get caught up on my blog reading when I should be cleaning!!
Cleaning Poem
I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computer-ing',
And I had to answer 'yes.'
He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up
...The smudges off my mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick
...I was just admiring my work.
I didn't mean to 'click.'
But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into it.
I was into it all night.
Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess
...While I sit here on my hiney.

Not me Monday
I'm not being lazy today and just using MckMama's tag line from her blog to introduce today!
This week I did not forget to post a birthday post to my sweet little baby, aka Dahrran, and he did not just turn 6. I just had him last week! I also did not just call him a baby, because MOM I'm NOT a BABY!
While getting ready for Dahrran's birthday party on Sat. I did not get the least bit upset with my husband when I'd asked him to have everyone ready when I got home ... from a big announcement ... and when I got home he was standing on the porch in his coat and no shoes. Kaitlynn did not meet me at the door in nothing but pants, because her daddy did exactly what I'd asked him.
I did not start typing this blog post from the bathtub. I then did not get a phone call I had to take and quickly dry off, head down stairs in a towel, and proceed to talk on the phone. I then did not go get a night gown out of my drawer, drain the water and proceed to type the rest of it. And I most certainly finished my bath because it would've been a waste of water if I hadn't!
I also am not ending this post because I now need to go take a shower...and hope the phone doesn't ring!

Not me Monday
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
This week in attempt to clean my dinning room, and get in gear to clean the house, I did not use my broom to sweep everything to one side of the room. I also do not still have the pile of crap on one side of the dinning room. Really I was supposed to pick it up.
When we the snow came this week and rushed our leaving time for a special little girl's baptisim I did not hand wash my jeans, throw them in the dryer and pray they got dry in time. When SIL showed up to ride with us in her black dress pants, I then did not proceed to wear my black yoga pants instead because she was wearing black pants. I did not wear said yoga pants with a dress top and tennis shoes...NOT ME!
I most certianly not threatened to put MacKenzie back in diapers after a long hard few weeks of mysterious accidents. I then did not wonder to myself if they would fit her, and then not put one on her just to make sure. I mean the girl has been potty trained for 15 months now!
I'm also not currently watching Discovery Kids as I type this. It's not like Trading Spaces: Boys vs Girls is better than Trading Spaces!
I don't have much this week, although I'm sure I did not just totally forget a bunch and probably should not save as a draft all week, because really why would I do that. I never ever ever schedule blogs to post when I'm not here!
