Bonfire Fun

A while back dad called me up one evening and asked if we wanted to come over for a bonfire. We’re always up for a bonfire so of course we said yes…I think you may remember that I was desperate for a break as well.

I’m sorry, but I’m in a bit of a hurry tonight. You see we’ve had a lot of stuff going on lately. If you follow me on facebook you know that my grandpa passed away, and then 8 short days later my great grandpa (grandpa’s dad) passed away. There will be more pictures, but for now these will have to do! Have a great Monday!

Fair Pictures

It’s been a crazy hectic last two weeks, and they’re finally coming to an end. I promised fair pictures weeks ago, and here I am just getting around to sharing them!

Here the kids are waiting for their turn to show. Shortly after this picture, MacKenzie’s rabbit, Swiper, bit her then the tears came rolling down her cheeks.

The kids both got Blue ribbons, which is the highest ribbon they can get in open class besides Overall Champion. Dahrran’s rabbit got the top Blue in his class, but didn’t win the overall rabbit. Neither one of them cared except that they got a ribbon!

And to prove that I’m not a mean sister, here is a GOOD picture of my little sister and Kaitlynn. Kaitlynn loved all of the animals at the fair. She walked around with Lindsey for the longest time just looking in all of the cages.

Forgive my look! It was HOT, and I was already ready to go home!

After going home and taking naps, it was time to head back to ride some rides!

Remember last year, when Dahrran was just tall enough to ride the bumper cars?
Well, guess who was tall enough this year?

And guess who wasn’t? Surely she was fine with it…or not.
She wasn’t tall enough to ride the bumper cars, but she was tall enough to ride the Ferris Wheel.

Then again, since he was tall enough to ride last year he is obviously tall enough to drive now!

My kids are growing up WAY too fast!

Just a fun picture from Fair….I promise you we’re not related!
*okay so maybe we are…but I don’t always claim her! Just my baby sister and my baby!

It’s not for them it’s for me

We’re about to head to my dad’s house for a bonfire. If it were up to Joel we’d be staying home. You see, my kids have been H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. And that’s putting things nicely. (as I typed that last sentence, Joel just reiterated that fact) Ever since I’ve got home they’ve been into everything, fighting over anything, and I just washed lotion out of Kaitlynn’s hair. (another story for another day)

Why are we going you ask? Because, I need a break. I’m already tired of yelling. At grandpa’s house they’ll get spoiled. I only have a few hours with them on Monday nights before it’s bed time, and frankly I’d like to have a good time. You see this bonfire is not for them. It’s for me!

Maybe I’ll get some post done tonight with fair pictures, and our adventure from Sat! Just maybe. Then again it depends on how the rest of the night goes!

This is what happens

When you ask your husband to fold, the ever mounding, laundry that is clean!DSC07963

I’m not going to complain, but when you come home and it looks like your laundry baskets have vomited FOLDED laundry into RANDOM piles across your living room….you have to laugh! I was forewarned that it would look like this when I got home, but wasn’t really expecting it!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my husband for folding laundry. He didn’t have to do any of it, and could’ve taken a nap instead. I know I’ve griped about him before, but seriously, how lucky am I?? I mentioned to him that laundry could be folded but didn’t expect it to be done. Now the task just lies ahead of putting it all away. DSC07964 DSC07965

Notice how none of it was piled for each kid, instead it was all just folded into piles. Which when I tried to put in it’s respective baskets! This my dear ladies is what happens when you let your husband fold laundry. I’m not going to complain, because he could’ve taken a nap instead!

Memories we forget to Photograph

We’ve been really busy lately, which has become our new normal and it’s getting kind of old. With our busy schedules I haven’t found much time to take pictures. In the last 3 weeks I’ve taken 57 pictures….and I hate to admit, but they were all taken today! :(

But it is Fair Week in our house! Fair week can only mean one thing, EVEN BUSIER than before! The kids were going to show Feeder Calves this year. We even had them picked out and had started halter breaking them. Then came the feed trial and my job offer. We just decided a week or so after that it wasn’t going to work itself out and scratched that idea. The kids were also signed up for showing Rabbits and so we’ve decided they could still show them. They are less work on our part, and the kids can work with them at Grandpa’s house while he’s babysitting!

Last night we had a storm roll through that has left quite the hail and wind damage. I hadn’t even heard the storm until all of a sudden the bathroom door slammed shut. That’s when I realized that MacKenzie was in bed with us, and Kaitlynn was sitting on the stairs crying. I’m not even sure why Kaitlynn was on the stairs, but I know a few minutes later Dahrran was in our bed as well.

When Joel got up to go to work and then decided he was tired and needed a day off (more about that in a minute) I decided that I was going to take a picture of the kids all in our bed. It happens whenever there are storms, but you never think to just capture the moment. In just a few short years my kids will NEVER end up in my bed, and I want to savor every un-waking moment of it! :)

I’m so glad I took the time to take a picture! This is how it looks, with Joel and I just left to sleep on whatever part of bed is left. We have a King size waterbed, and there is maybe what amounts to a twin sized mattress left! Dahrran usually takes the foot of the bed because there isn’t room for him up top. Therefore it makes it even more difficult to sleep and not kick him.

As for Joel’s day off. With the feed trial going on he decided it was time he take a break. It’s been almost 4 weeks to the day that he had a full day off. So I’d say it was time! It was nice to have him home, and be able to spend the night as a family!

Have a great week everyone! I’ll try to get pictures posted this weekend, from fair. Joel is going to go to the fair with the kids and I on Friday night, and so therefore he won’t be able to go to work on Sat. as well. So it will be a nice little “vacation” for us all! :)
